ONTO THE POST!! 😛

For today’s Bible Verse Dissect be sure to pull up your gloves and lay out your tools because this verse is well, different but powerful.

This verse is found in Jeremiah 20 and the context of this verse will be a lot easier to understand if you read that chapter first. 🙂 I will be using the English Standard Version (ESV) and the The New Living Translation ( NLT) today in this post. 🙂

Feel free to read Jeremiah 20 before you finish reading the rest of this post. 🙂

Jeremiah 20:9 English Standard Version (ESV)

If I say, “I will not mention him,
or speak any more in his name,”
there is in my heart as it were a burning fire
    shut up in my bones,
and I am weary with holding it in,
    and I cannot.

This verse was our last memory verse for Torch Team( the youth dicipleship/leadership class at my church) this semester. We will start it again in the fall but I will miss it this summer.

This verse I feel like also describes who we are as a Torch Team and I really liked how that this was our ending verse.

Let’s take a closer look at the context of this chapter. 🙂 *slaps out magnifying glass

Jeremiah is a prophet of God and he has been being persecuted by a man named Pashur. Pashur beat Jeremiah and left him in the stocks even because of what he was proudly prophesying.

Jeremiah is then talking to God and saying how everything he has said has been destruction but he will continue to praise God. In verse 9, we see that he says he can not hold in what God is telling him because it is like fire in his bones.

Like I said, when you read the chapter, it will make more sense. 😉

Let’s look at the NLT translation now. 🙂 Sometimes looking at different translations can help us better understand the meaning of a verse.

Jeremiah 20:9 New Living Translation (NLT)

But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord
    or speak in his name,
his word burns in my heart like a fire.
It’s like a fire in my bones!
I am worn out trying to hold it in!
    I can’t do it!

Jeremiah says that if he does not speak about God’s name or who He is, the words are like a fire and it burns!!

The thing about fires is that they can be out of control and they can spread fast! Jeremiah says he is worn out and he can not stop the fire of God from spreading. He can not stop the fire of his own life because he knows what the truth and goodness of God is.

This verse should also apply to us. We want to be able to say that we can hold it in, and that we can’t help but be on fire for Jesus or share His goodness, mercy, beauty, and glorious salvation.

There is a fire in our bones and our heart, and we can’t hold it in.

Thanks again Ezra for letting me write on your blog!!

I would love to chat down in the comments with you all, if you would like.

Is there anything in this verse that stood out to you? Were you able to take anything away from this verse? Did you get to read Jeremiah 20? What Bible translation do you use? If you have any questions about the verse, the Bible, Jesus, and anything, me and I know Ezra, will be willing to help.

Talk to you all soon!! I will see you all next month in JUNE! 😛

Please don’t forget to fill out the form, or you can just put your answer down in the comments if that is easier and more comfortable for you. 😀

Bye for now!!

Bible Verse Dissection with Dr. Kaelyn~Romans 15:13

hello friend

This is Kaelyn @ Kaelyn’s Life here and I am excited to be here to do a Bible Verse Dissection with me as Dr. Kaelyn! 😛

Hope you all are hanging in there with the whole quarantine thing right now. I hope this Bible verse is encouraging to you today, even among all of the crazy going on in our world today.

This verse is my memory verse for Torch Team( the youth discipleship/leadership class at my church) and I actually still need to memorize this, lol.

The verse is Romans 15:13 and we will be using the ESV version and the TPT as well.

Get your gloves on because it is time to dissect this amazing verse. ( sorry for the weird comparison lol #sorrynotsorry lol) anways,

*cough cough

and moving right to our verse… 😛

See the source image

Alright, can we just all just take a moment to see just how incredible this verse is?!! This verse is super encouraging, especially for this interesting time we are all in right now.

At the beginning of 2020, I imagine most of us were not thinking in just a few months we would be dealing with a world-wide pandemic but Jesus has placed us in this time for a reason. He has placed you in this time for a reason.

May the God of hope“.. God is a God of hope, not of hopelessness.

Two Christian speakers, Steve and Wendy Backlund said this, “There are no hopeless situations but only hopeless people.”

In this time, let’s not be a people without hope but a people brimming with hope but the verse continues to say this “fill you with all joy and peace in believing“.

Our God is a God of hope filling us with joy and peace in our believing. Right now, we can choose joy and we can choose to look at our situations from a higher perspective declaring “There is always a solution!” because there is!! Let’s have joy and peace in this situation because this is who we are as Christians! It’s our joy and delight in our Father and it is his joy and delight to delight in you, never forget that!

JESUS IS SO PROUD OF YOU!!

AND..

We can’t hope and worry at the same time because they are direct opposites. This is something that the Backlunds said in their message that I listened to on”The Power of Hope”.

so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope“. In Holy Spirit and by his power, WE CAN ABOUND IN HOPE! Not just touch it, not just dust hope a little bit then leave, no, we are called TO ABOUND IN HOPE! We are called to live a life of overflow with hope, joy, and peace.

Jesus is calling us to live in this fiery lifestyle and he is here to help us along the way. But don’t worry, you don’t have to be perfect, Jesus, if you are a follower of Jesus, he accepts you and calls you..

chosen.

loved.

redemmed.

worth it.

worthy.

royalty.

joyful.

peace.

hope.

We are all called to live in joy and in hope!! This is who we are called to be! 😀 Joy is who we are and hope is who we are. THIS IS WHO WE ARE!!

Believe that you are worth it, and in this odd time right now, we can look at this verse and see that our Heavenly Daddy abounds in hope and joy and us as His kids, we can too.

I hope this was encouraging to you today and I will see you all soon!! Next month’s guest post from me will either be another Bible Verse Dissect or Genealogy Gardener post.

If you have any questions, or you saw anything in this verse that stood out to you, or you have never asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, I would love to talk with you and I know Ezra would be free to do as well.

Thanks again Ezra for letting me be able to post on here!!

Until we meet again! 😀

peacefully reading

Romans 15:13 The Passion Translation (TPT)

13 Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!

Praying blessings on you!

WSC

I know it has been a while since we’ve been able to do a regular WSC, but here we are. I’m still posting the scripture that I’m memorizing for Torch Team. If you don’t already know, I am in a group called Torch Team, where we pray, worship, memorize scripture, and have community together. It’s all people from 8th-12th grade.

Recently we have been listening to Steve and Wendy Backlund talk about joy, belief, and declarations. I really encourage you guys to listen to them. If you want to learn more about them, just go to https://ignitinghopeministries.com .

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

It’s such a powerful verse. This verse is really trying to get you to believe in the fact that you have a God that can fill you with joy and peace. You see where it says “in believing”? You need to trust and believe with your whole heart that God can make you be filled with joy and peace. If you believe in that, then you may abound in hope, because your belief gives you hope.

I was just reminded of something that Wendy Backlund says, “It’s better to have great faith in little things, than to have little faith in great things.” We are always trying to do great things. We want people to see what we have done and look up to us. But if it’s such a big thing, then we often have little faith. The reason it is better to do a little thing with great faith is because God doesn’t measure what we do in how great it is, he measures our faith in doing it. That’s what we want, because that’s what God thinks of us, and that’s what matters. Fear the Lord. It doesn’t matter if other people think that what we are doing is not great. What matters, is if we think about how great God says it is.

That’s pretty much all I have to say about this verse. There are lots of other cool things about this verse, but that’s just what I took from it. If you see anything that you think is cool about this verse, then please put it in the comments.

Before we go, I have a couple quick announcements / updates. I told y’all a couple weeks ago that I am going to help my parents with their business. I’m going to be helping set up their website, and their going to pay me to help them with that.

Your probably wondering what exactly it is that they do. Well, that’s why I’m happy to announce that on June 1st or 2nd, there will be a guest post on Ezra’s Everything Spot by none other than my father, Curtis. He is going to be explaining about our business. The reason we will be waiting a full six weeks before he can make the post is because meanwhile we will be setting up the website and many other things for the business.

The other announcement is that I will be doing a collab with Kaeyln. We haven’t exactly figured out what kind of collab to do, but we’re figuring that out. You should probably expect to see it by next weekend.

If you enjoyed this post, then be sure to smash that follow button if you haven’t already, so that you don’t miss out on any new posts. Thanks for reading! -Ezra

WSC #21

Today I’m back with the 21st WSC on Ezra’s Everything Spot. Thank you so much for reading!

By the way, just a quick note. I changed the header to where it’s just words and not the cool painty thingy, because the free plan on WordPress is very limited, so I can’t have my site name unless they put it there, instead of my cool header that I made. There are themes that I am able to do that with, just not this one.

I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to get to a post in so long, I’ve just been super busy with school and other things. But also frankly, I don’t really know what to post about. So, it you guys have anything you would like to know more about, or a fun post idea you have, then just tell me what it is, I’m always open to suggestions.

Some of you know that I am doing something with my church called Torch Team. At Torch Team, we pray together, worship together, minister to people, read the bible, memorize scriptures, prophesy over people, and just live as a community. So, every other week we are given a verse or two that we have to memorize within two weeks. Well, that is one reason why I continue to do WSC. Every time I do a WSC is because it is a verse from Torch Team.

Now, for what you have all been waiting for, this week’s Whenever Scripture Comes (as I realize I need to change the image because it’s colors don’t go with the new site design)!!

WSC

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6 (ESV)

Good verse right there. You must have faith in God. You need to have complete trust in him. If you don’t believe in God, then you can’t please him. Nothing is possible without God. Someone who doesn’t believe God doesn’t have faith in him, that is why it’s impossible to please him. However, someone who believes in God trusts that he exists. They have faith. Then it says he rewards those who seek him. If you are just looking for the reward then you miss the fact that the reward is the fruit of your faith in God. I think that your reward is simply to know God. Isn’t that good enough for you? Everything revolves around faith. It says if you have faith the size of a mustard seed then you can move mountains. Well, you have to have faith to even believe that you can have faith the size of a mustard seed. I think I made a WSC about a verse that I’m thinking of. It said something about how if everything you do is not based on faith then it is sin. Oh yeah, it was Romans 14:23. Yo! That’s crazy. I can’t imagine that. I know I do things in my life that aren’t based on faith. Every day without even thinking about it, I mess up, I do things that aren’t based on faith. But guess what? God forgives us. And if you have faith in that. Faith in the fact that God forgives you, then you have that kind of faith that Paul is talking about in this verse.

That’s pretty much all I have for today about this verse. Let me know if you guys have any thoughts on this verse. This was super fun to do. If you haven’t checked out the last WSC, then do so. Thanks again for reading! As I said before, let me know what kind of posts you guys want.

If you haven’t already, then please smash that follow button to the right or on the bottom so that you don’t miss out on any new posts.

I’ll talk to y’all later! -Ezra
