WSC #22

I know it has been a while since we’ve been able to do a regular WSC, but here we are. I’m still posting the scripture that I’m memorizing for Torch Team. If you don’t already know, I am in a group called Torch Team, where we pray, worship, memorize scripture, and have community together. It’s all people from 8th-12th grade.

Recently we have been listening to Steve and Wendy Backlund talk about joy, belief, and declarations. I really encourage you guys to listen to them. If you want to learn more about them, just go to .

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. Romans 15:13

It’s such a powerful verse. This verse is really trying to get you to believe in the fact that you have a God that can fill you with joy and peace. You see where it says “in believing”? You need to trust and believe with your whole heart that God can make you be filled with joy and peace. If you believe in that, then you may abound in hope, because your belief gives you hope.

I was just reminded of something that Wendy Backlund says, “It’s better to have great faith in little things, than to have little faith in great things.” We are always trying to do great things. We want people to see what we have done and look up to us. But if it’s such a big thing, then we often have little faith. The reason it is better to do a little thing with great faith is because God doesn’t measure what we do in how great it is, he measures our faith in doing it. That’s what we want, because that’s what God thinks of us, and that’s what matters. Fear the Lord. It doesn’t matter if other people think that what we are doing is not great. What matters, is if we think about how great God says it is.

That’s pretty much all I have to say about this verse. There are lots of other cool things about this verse, but that’s just what I took from it. If you see anything that you think is cool about this verse, then please put it in the comments.

Before we go, I have a couple quick announcements / updates. I told y’all a couple weeks ago that I am going to help my parents with their business. I’m going to be helping set up their website, and their going to pay me to help them with that.

Your probably wondering what exactly it is that they do. Well, that’s why I’m happy to announce that on June 1st or 2nd, there will be a guest post on Ezra’s Everything Spot by none other than my father, Curtis. He is going to be explaining about our business. The reason we will be waiting a full six weeks before he can make the post is because meanwhile we will be setting up the website and many other things for the business.

The other announcement is that I will be doing a collab with Kaeyln. We haven’t exactly figured out what kind of collab to do, but we’re figuring that out. You should probably expect to see it by next weekend.

If you enjoyed this post, then be sure to smash that follow button if you haven’t already, so that you don’t miss out on any new posts. Thanks for reading! -Ezra

Ezra’s Everything Spot Bloggiversary

Ezra's Everything Spot(3)

It’s that time again!! Actually it’s passed that time again, but I was gone for a while when it was… So, we’re here again. Wow! 2 Years… A lot has happened in these two years. I really have literally no idea what we’re going to do, but I’m just gonna wing it (as usual).

So, just like last year, I am going to show you guys some songs to play. Actually, I’m going to show my Spotify playlist, and you guys can listen to it here. Now you guys know what I listen to every day. So, you can just turn that on, or some of your favorite songs, and come join the party.

I guess, what I’ll do first is just list some of my stats on how well this blog has done in the past year. So, these are the stats since March 2nd 2019, because that was the first bloggiversary. Let’s go!

Followers: 66 That’s actually a lot of followers considering the fact that I only have 91 followers in total. We’re nearing a hundred! If you think about it, 91 isn’t that many, but I am still very happy with it, not just because I have 91 people willing to click the follow button, but mostly because about 1/4 of all of those 91, really care. There are about 22-25 followers that are committed to my blog; meaning that they like, comment or show interest to my posts at least once a month. That’s amazing! Sometimes, people who have 1,000 followers, might have about 60 that really care and show interest to their posts, but that’s a lower percentage than 22 is out of 91. What I’m saying is, even though I don’t have that many followers, the fact that so many of them care is better to me.

Views: 5058 WOW!! 5058 views in the past year! That’s just crazy! Nothing else to say here…

Visitors: 1194 Yikes! Ezra’s Everything Spot has been visited 1194 times within the last year! 1194 is a big number! This makes me know you guys care. The fact that you guys will continually come back and look at my posts is awesome. Thanks for caring guys!

Likes: 1179 That’s almost as many likes as views! And guess what? Not one unlike! 😉 That means that most of the times you visited my site it was because you liked one of my posts or pages, or one of Kaelyn’s posts or pages. Go Kaelyn!!

Comments: 1200 Ha ha!!! More comments than likes or views! That means you guys are chatty, or it means I’m chatty, because half of those comments are mine, but still, it’s cool!! I love comments! That’s the best part of having a blog!

Posts: 111 That’s a cool number! 111 Posts! That’s a lot! Kaelyn and I have done a lot of posts! That’s so crazy!

Words: About 50,000 It’s kinda hard to count words since March 2nd, but it’s about 50,000. Oh my goodness! That is a lot of words… I think it was mostly because of how many posts we made, because I usually have really short posts. My Average words per post right now is 734, which isn’t bad for me, but still a little short. It’s way better than it was though. I had an average of 418 words per post last year XD.

Best Month: October With 718 views, 90 visitors, 69 likes, 113 comments, and 7 posts October was probably the best month in this past year, as far as stats. I think one person just looked at tons of posts, because most of that is just views, the rest is pretty average. The best day was October 3rd (my mom’s b-day).

I think that’s all for stats. That took some math skills btw 😉 . Okay, so I have a couple more ideas…

Remember last year when I tried to do the month of collabs? Well, that kinda failed… Most of the time I didn’t end up getting to the collabs… I also realized that there have been times that I have done like a giveaway or something and I forgot to give the winners their rewards. So, if you still want to do those collabs, then just let me know on my contact page. Also, I’m truly sorry for not giving you your reward for a giveaway, so if you still want that reward and you didn’t ever recieve it, then let me know and make I’ll make sure you get it. Thanks guys!

Also, if anyone else wants to do a collab, I am totally up for it! I haven’t done a collab in a while, so if you are feeling collaby then just tell me! Especially if you have never done one with me before, then that will be loads of fun! Even if you have though, I would still love to collab with ya! Let me know.. 😉

Ooh! I have an idea, and I think I did this last year, but a lot of people do it for their bloggiversaries, so I’m gonna go for it! What you do is just tell your name, tell us about yourself, and give a link to your blog in the comments. This isn’t just a time for me to interact with y’all, but a time for you guys to interact with each other as well. I want you guys to be able to find each others blogs and get to connect. Most of you guys already follow each other, which I love that fact, but if you don’t, then make sure you meet some new peeps. Thanks!!!

If you would, then go ahead and share this post on your blog, so that everyone can join the party! People are bored right now, so I think everyone’s going to want to have a party, and possibly get some new followers while they’re at it.

Sorry if this is unprofessional or boring, but you guys can help make it fun, because frankly this blog runs mostly on follower power. If you guys can think of fun things to do, then I’ll do it next year, or just sometime fun even if it’s not the bloggiversary.

If your not following this blog… You might want to. And if that’s true, then go ahead and click the follow button to the left, or if your on the WordPress reader, it should be on the right, that way you don’t miss out on any awesome posts like this one 🙂 .

This was a super fun post to make! Thanks for checking it out! Peace out! -Ezra

My New Post on The Bloggers Project

Hey guys! I made a cool post on The Bloggers Project that I wanted to show you guys. I wanted to reblog it, but I don’t think I can reblog my own post. I tried and it didn’t work. So, I’m literally just copying and posting the entire post into here. So, here it is!

2 In 1 Real Neat Blog Award!|Guide for New Bloggers

Hey everyone! It’s your favorite author on The Bloggers Project! JK, it’s me, Ezra! How’s it going guys?

You may find it interesting that I am doing an award post on The Bloggers Project, instead of on my own blog (EES), but I am actually doing this for a few reasons. First of all, doing this is actually sharing my blogging experience, because awards are great ways to express your creativity, reach out to your blogger friends (help them out) / make new blogger friends, and also to get more traffic by others giving links to your blog.

So, not only are awards fun, but they are very helpful for us bloggers. I know there are a lot of new bloggers out there, especially during this time period, so if you have never done a blog award, then I’ll show you how it’s done in this post.

First of all I want to explain a few things. There are many different Blogger Awards. There’s the Liebtser Award, Real Neat Blog Award, Awesome Blogger Award, Sunshine Blogger Award, Randomness Award (created by my little brother who no longer has a blog), and many other awards. Typically all the awards are pretty similar. You have the award image, the rules, the participating in the award, and finally the nominating of other bloggers that really deserve the award.

Throughout this whole thing, I’ll try to give you new bloggers some helpful tips, so without further ado, let’s begin!

I usually start by thanking the person who tagged me/ nominated me. It’s usually in the rules, but even if it’s not, we want to show the nominator some love. So, thank you so much Esther from your blog Esther’s Nook (provide link to their blog)! I am so excited to get to do this award again!! Everyone be sure to check out Esther’s “Real Neat Blog” here (if you don’t know how to add a link to text, then shoot me a comment below, and I’d be happy to explain how).

Next, I usually display the award logo/ image, if there is one (sometimes there is not an official image), however, some people like to put it before thanking the nominator, or at the beginning of the post, it’s totally optional. To display the image, simply go to the site that nominated you, then copy the image and paste into your post.

Rules (follow these directions, and it should be pretty straight forward):

  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you
  • Answer the 10 questions the blogger gave to you
  • Nominate four bloggers who deserve the award
  • Create 10 original questions for the nominees to answer
  • Let them know they’ve been nominated

Esther’s Questions / My Answers in Bold:

  1. Who’s your favorite singer? Probably TobyMac, but my favorite band is Skillet.
  2. What’s your favorite book of the Bible? Proverbs! Lots of wisdom.
  3. What book are you currently reading? The bible… I actually just finished the book I was reading yesterday, so next I’ll probably read “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”
  4. Do you like gum? Oh, yeah! I love blowing bubbles.
  5. Do you have your own room? Nope. Have to share with my little brother, but hopefully I will in our next house.
  6. Do you prefer cake or ice-cream? Ice-cream!!!!!!
  7. If you had to live in a super cold place or a super hot place, which place would you pick? Probably super hot. I actually don’t mind the cold at all, but I’d rather live in a super hot place.
  8. Do you have any pen pals? If so, how many? I have had pen pals in the past, but after not writing back for a while, we kinda just stopped. I do talk to people old friends, that live far away over email or FB.
  9. What day did you get the most views on your blog? Good question. Let me go see! Well, since I’m talking about most views on The Bloggers Project, that would probably be December 19 2019.
  10. What inspired you to start blogging? School… I actually had to start a blog as a project for school, but now I just do it because I love it. 😀

My Nominees:

Anyone who has been blogging for less than 6 months, or if your just looking at me making this post, and are thinking that it would be so fun to make a blog, first of all, do it, then come do this award, because I just tagged you! I want to get you new bloggers started on awards, so you are nominated!!

This also counts for my next award, so if you guys want you can do both awards (as in, I’m not nominating anyone else for the next award)!

My Questions for the Nominees:

  1. If you could go to a different planet, which one would you go to?
  2. When was the last time you saw a meme that didn’t have to do with Baby Yoda or COVID-19 (bet you can’t remember)?
  3. What’s your favorite video game?
  4. Who’s your favorite actor / actress?
  5. Pens or pencils?
  6. What is your longest post ever (provide link if possible)?
  7. Do you have freckles?
  8. What’s your record for most pieces of pizza eaten in one meal (mine’s 13 at the age of 2, XD I don’t remember it, but my parents say it’s true)?
  9.  Can you lick your nose?
  10. Sweet pickles or dill pickles?

Time for part 2!!

Okay everyone! I was nominated for this award twice recently so, now I’m going to do the other one. You don’t have to do more than one award in a single post, especially if that’s too much stress for you newer bloggers, but some people like do more than one in a single post to knock down two birds with one stone. I’m just doing this because I happened to be nominated for this specific award. Starting out, you probably won’t get nominated very often, but after about a year or two, you’ll most likely have to start putting things on the waiting list 😉 .

Remember what to do? This time I’m just going to go through the whole thing without listing anything. Ready? Go!

Thank you so much my man, Elisha! I love getting the opportunity to answer your super fun questions in these awards! Everyone be sure to check out Elisha’s blog, Africa Boy! He has put so much work into his blog; it’s very awesome, and he always has great content!

Real Neat Blogger Award
I don’t know if there are two different “Real Neat Blog Awards”or what, but I just noticed that not only are the logos different, but so are the rules. Colton is the creator of this one though, so maybe he knows the difference.

  • Display the blog award logo in your blog.
  • Thank the blogger(s) who nominated you.
  • Do not forget to link to their blogging website.
  • Answer all the questions they have given you.
  • Nominate 7 to 10 bloggers of your choice.
  • Ask them 7 questions.

Elisha’s Questions / My Answers in Bold:

1: Since you’re a real neat blogger, what would you say was your best post? Well, on this blog, probably my Tips for Blogging post. As for my personal blog, hmm…. Probably this one; not one of my most popular ones, but certainly one of my favorite ones to write.

2: Do you have any pets? Yes, a dog named Prince. Also my sister has a bunny named Boo.

3: What are you most convicted about? The fact that I am a loved child of God.

4: Which blogger is the biggest inspiration to you? (leave a link) I actually have two, both for different reasons. 1. You, Elisha, because you help me to realize how capable I am, I look at how great your content is, and I know that I can be great as well; even though your a kid, your one of the greatest writers I’ve ever seen, and that helps me have faith that I can be as well. 2. Keziah E. Keziah, you always encouraged me so much with every post that I write, that gives me confidence to keep going. Those are just two of the many awesome bloggers who have inspired me. Great question!

5: If you could write a book, what would it be about? Hmm… I don’t know, but probably some kind of realistic fiction.

6: Besides blogging, what do you like to do with your spare time? Play sports, mostly basketball and football, play my guitar and bass, play board games, play video games, read, drink coffee, research genealogy, watch movies, and much more.

7: Do you think you’ll make a career out of blogging? Probably. I don’t know for sure about blogging specifically, but I really like web design and I think I would be really good at it. I’m actually working on building a website for my parents, that they are eventually going to start paying me for.

My Questions (remember, I’ve already nominated people):

  1. What’s your favorite beverage?
  2. What’s one cool thing about you?
  3. Do you like cooking? If so, then what do you cook the most?
  4. What was the last book you read?
  5. What was the last movie you watched?
  6. If you could be a missionary, where would you want to be a missionary (this doesn’t apply to you, Elisha 😉 )? / Is God calling you to be a missionary somewhere?
  7. What did you do for Easter (I’m writing this a day in advance, but I’m just assuming that you won’t do it until after Easter)?

Well, that about wraps up the post! Those of you who aren’t new (including myself), make sure to reblog this for the new bloggers out there on that are following your blog. Thank you so much for stopping by The Bloggers Project and taking time to read this post! If you haven’t already, then go ahead and click that follow button, I don’t where it is anymore because the team redesigned it while I was gone, but search around until you find the follow button, and smash it! That way you won’t miss out on any new posts. One last thing, speaking of the new design, I think Ariana did a great job! What do you guys think of it? Let us know in the comments below! C-ya later!!

I’m Back!!

Hey everyone!!!!!!! I’m back a day early because my youth pastors birthday is today, and he said that he is going to be breaking fast today, and we may join him, so I asked God and I got the OK, so I’m done fasting.

You have no idea how good it is to see you guys!!! This past month has been amazing / horrible, but I’m just happy to get to talk. So many things have happened since I have been gone.

I have been doing a prayer thing for the coronavirus every single day for 30 minutes, which has been amazing!!!! I did One Night in a Box (before the virus). I  went on vacation for Spring break. I had my birthday (I’m 14 now). Also, I had the bloggiversary; though sadly we couldn’t celebrate it because of the fast, but we’ll make up for that.

Oh my goodness!!!!! This feels so good!!!! Sorry to be making such a big deal out of this, but it’s just so cool (I’m realizing that when I’m excited I can type really really fast). I noticed when I got on today that I have actually had a lot of traffic since I’ve been gone (surprising right?). Also, I now have 91 followers! Yeayah!!!! I gotta go eat lunch…… Okay I’m back!

The Lord has been working in me in so many ways recently. God is so good!!! I was praying about the coronavirus the other day and I started to pray this as God was speaking through me:

The Devil tried to come and ruin your plan, God. He knew that your were stirring up the church. He knew that you were using the church to save people and make them new as your adopted child. So, Satan tried to break up the church with his master plan, COVID-19. And for a little while, it worked. But when YOU changed our PERSPECTIVE, you used his plan against him. Now, I believe that the church is not weakened, but stronger than ever before. God, just by changing our perspective, I believe more lives will be saved during COVID-19, than ever before. Instead of having fear, like The Devil intended, we as a church, have faith. Faith, that you can work miracles. Faith, that we have authority in The Kingdom. Faith, that when we speak, miracles happen. God, you changed our PERSPECTIVE, so that we may have greater faith in THIS season than ever before. RIGHT NOW, the church, your church, all of your children UNITED, are not weaker, but stronger than ever before. When we look back at this season, we will NOT think about the sadness of COVID-19, rather we will think about it being the time of when our faith was increased by so much, from you changing our perspective. THIS IS YOUR REVELATION. Amen.

I ended up sharing that with my youth group (online). Revelation has been a really important word for our youth group, so that’s why I put that last part in bold.

Also, I got some social media earlier today. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I’m mostly going to be using them for business purposes (I’m helping my parents with their business), but I can use it for personal reasons too, and I’ll give y’all links to them, once I get them more straightened out. Also btw, I’ve never had social media before so I don’t really know how to use them LOL. So, if you guys have any tips then I’ll take it 😉 . Hopefully that will also get me a little more traffic on here.

What else do I need to tell you guys? I don’t know. I guess I’ll just be writing whatever comes to mind (classic Ezra)………………………………………………………………………………

Oh, if you have nominated me for an award, then let me know in the comments, so that I can get to the award as soon as possible. I know Esther nominated me, but I don’t if anyone else did.

I have been doing learning a lot more about web designing, because I’m going to help my parents build a website for their business. I was even diving into some really complicated HTML (boring). I have been using a really cool tool called Figma, that helps you make websites very easily. So that’s all been fun………..

Ooh also the band was doing pretty good until the virus. I don’t really know what’s going to happen now. We took some pictures for the album cover, and for the posters that we’ll be giving out at the concert. We did that before the virus. We’ll have to see if the concert is going to happen or not, I’m thinking it still is though. I’m almost done making the shirts (the transfer paper comes in on Saturday). We’re pretty behind on practice though, so hopefully we’ll still be ready for the CD. in the summer. Pretty much, nobody knows whats going to happen for the band XD…

I feel like there was something else that I wanted to say but I can’t remember. Well………………………………………………………. Talk to me please! Cheerio! -Ezra

Life Updates (Important)

Hey everyone! I’m back with that post that I said I’d do. A lot of stuff is going to be happening in the next few days, so I’m just going to tell y’all everything……

Tomorrow I am going to play bass for the youth group band, we had our first practice for the semester on Sunday. That will be super fun! We are going to be playing I Raise a Hallelujah, Death was Arrested, Way Maker, and Defender. Those are some great songs, that I encourage y’all to listen to.

I want to let you all know that I will not be posting for a while. On Sunday, I am going to be participating in THE JESUS FAST, which is a global fast that I encourage you guys to join in with me. If you don’t know what it is, it’s pretty much just fasting for 40 days from anything, and spending more time with Jesus. So, I am going to be fasting from all online entertainment, and then on the last 21 days I will be doing the Daniel fast as well.

This means that starting on Sunday, you will not hear from me at all. I am not going to post, view posts, reply to comments, or anything on here. I will not be replying to emails unless they are IMPORTANT, and not for entertainment.

I am so excited for this fast! This is going to be so awesome! Please participate if you think that is what The Lord is calling you to do.

I am not going to be making another post this week, so this is goodbye for now. I will talk to you all in about a month and a half. You can comment on this post and I will reply, but after that I am done ’till April 9th. This was just a super quick post, letting y’all know that I am going to be gone for a little while. Please pray that this fast goes super well, and that I have no temptation, also pray about it for yourselves. Thank you so very much for reading!! 🙂 TTYL -Ezra

Geniosity of Genealogy: Reviewing Records

Geniosity of Genealogy(1)

Hello everyone! We’re back today with another Geniosity of Genealogy. We are going to be talking about how to review, attach, and pretty much just know how to use records in genealogy.

So, the many genealogy sites have billions records of different things, birth records, death records, census records, military records, and a few other kinds of records. Genealogy sites like Ancestry and Family Search make it very easy to use records. Today I’m going to be giving you guys descriptions on exactly how to use records on Family Search.

First of all, if you don’t have a Family Search account then go get it! It’s FREE! It’s in my opinion, the best genealogy site, and I’ve tried a lot. I’ve used it for like 3 years, and it’s amazing! So, go get an account here, and come back once you have one!

First of all, you want to know why you want to look for a record. Maybe you want know if your grandpa was in a certain war, or if you great-grandma had any siblings, there’s so many possibilities of why you would want to view a document. Or maybe your just messing around on Family Search and don’t know what to do (I can relate).

If you searched your ancestors name in Family Search and found a record that looks like his/hers then click on it, or if you were just messing with your “Family Tree” and you notice that your ancestor has a hint, then click on it. It should take you to a page where it says details about your ancestor and the record you’re comparing he/she to.

If it matches up then usually is correct. However, after one mistake in Family Search’s indexing of a record then everything could be wrong on your “family tree” that you have made. So, if you think that the record is incorrect, then you should click on the thing that says “view original document”or something like that, then actually view the record, instead of Family Search’s indexing of it. You might find for example, that the name didn’t look the same as the indexing, because the person might who wrote the original document had weird cursive handwriting or something, so Family Search couldn’t exactly tell what the name said when they indexed it.

This happened to me actually. I was attaching a record to my great-grandma when I noticed that her name was “Marine” on the record, but when I viewed the actual record more closely, I realized that it was weird handwriting and the r was really an x. So, her name was “Maxine,” like I had thought.

So, viewing records is a really cool thing if you know how to do it right. I hope these tips help you better understand genealogy records. Try them out! Maybe you can find out new things that you’ve never known about your family.

Also, by the way, there is this really cool thing that I just now saw on Family Search while I was playing around on it. It’s a cousin chart! You know how your always trying to figure out what kind of cousin your cousin is to you? Well if you go to Family Search and click on the big article that says “Cousin Chart” then you can see how your cousin that are more distant are officially related to you. I mean it doesn’t matter that much as long as they’re your cousins, but it’s still cool to see the chart and actually figure it out.

Well, that pretty much wraps us up for today. Be on the lookout for another post that I will do this week, possibly even today, because it will be VERY IMPORTANT. Be sure to smash that follow button, if you haven’t already, so that you don’t miss out on any upcoming posts. As always, thank you so much for reading! I will talk to y’all later! -Ezra

Last Post: Take the Leap (by Kaelyn)

Take the Leap…

Hey y’all!!

and yes, i am riding a giant his name is henry the lobster and he likes icecream.
wait, where were we?

Oh right!! Yes,it is I, Kaelyn and I am back, and I know it has been a minute since I have been back but today I wanted to do something that I figured out that I really truly love. I have been loving writing poems/spoken word for my blog. Even though I have only done one so far I would love to do some more!

You can see the one I wrote yesterday here! ( my blog is private and you just need to request access and yeah! 🙂

Now, onto this month’s poem!

Thanks Ezra for letting me write on this blog and sry I have not been able to as recently!

But onwards! 😀

Take the Leap…

i see it

i can feel it

the air is getting thinner

can’t you see it?

can’t you feel it?

the moisture

the dew on your brow

it’s time.

don’t you see.

this is it.

it is time to take the next leap.

the next trust fall.

the next bound of faith.

the next step.

it’s time.

the cliff.

it feels so tall

so high

so daunting

so unsafe

i can’t

not yet

not now.

i am not ready to take this next leap.

i don’t think i can.

but as you start to back away for the cliff’s edge.

that next leap of faith

i hear a whisper

a sound tickling my ear

a kind whisper

a voice

speaking and saying

“it’s okay. don’t be afraid of the free fall.

i know it may seem daunting.

but to fly you have to jump.

you have to leap.

but my child, my dear dear child,

it’s going to be okay

no one is forcing you

i believe in you

i love you

do you trust me?

at those words, i look out and i know i can trust this voice, this whisper, and i know that when i am falling and flailing, for me to fly

i am going to have to jump

i know, i can do it.birds do it all the time

but birds have wings

the whisper comes again and says

” you were born to fly.”

at that point i jump

the thrill

the jump

it is exhilarating

i laugh

i don’t squirm

the feeling of flying

is beautiful

“papa ( i whisper to the voice that spoke to me)

i am ready to fly

in that moment

i see the ground coming closer

but i don’t touch it

i soar

i don’t fall

i can see the whips of wind with me

“my daughter, he calls to me,

the voice of jesus

loud and strong

” don’t you love it? the freedom to fly

you were not made to stay grounded

you were made to soar

i was made to soar

you are made to soar

this is who we are

jesus is calling you me

we are called to fly

we are called to not just keep dragging through life

we were not made to only come this far

we were made to fly

i turn and see a hand with a sparkler

the sparks fly

the hand hands it to me and says

“you are beautiful. share my light love and laughter.

i am looking for friends. for relationship and not religion.

do you accept this call?

i look at my sparkler and nod

it is time to fly again.

are you ready?

do you accept?

That is all for today! This poem really is talking about Jesus and about taking the next leaps of faith, flying with Jesus and feeling his freedom and accepting the mission to drip Jesus everywhere we go.

do you accept?

A Look at the Past + Music Update

A Look at the Past + Music Update

Hey friends! Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Honestly, I just couldn’t think of things to post about. Today, I wanted to make a post since it’s been a while but I couldn’t really think of what to post about, so it’s just kinda going to be one of those posts I do every once in a while about my life and stuff.

First of all I just wanted to take a look into the past of this blog. We are improving so much. For me, I’ve gotten better with grammar, punctuation, word choice, graphic designing, length of posts consistency (mostly), and just overall content.

I want you guys to do something for me. Look at any one of my posts from January 2019 and before. I want to show you how much this blog has improved. I am almost embarrassed with every single post I made before then, and a few after, but that’s okay. Each one of us gets better as time goes on. Back then, I had no idea what I was doing. I have learned so much more.

One of the greatest reasons that I’m getting so much better is because of the role models I have had. Any of you guys who have been blogging longer than me, I want to thank you for setting example for younger bloggers like myself. And that is one of my goals as a blogger now. I want to set an example for newer bloggers, who don’t know what they’re getting into. You don’t have to be a pro at the beginning, it’s just important that you stick to it, and you will learn and develop as time goes on.

So, please take a look at one of my first posts and compare it to one of my newer ones, and you’ll see what I mean. 😀

Now, let’s talk about music. So, as most of you know, I’m in two bands. One is called Indigo Halo, it is a rock band that I play electric guitar in. Then I have my youth group band, where I play the bass in. I’m going to give you guys an overview of each band and what is going on in them.

Indigo Halo:

Indigo Halo
Yes, we changed the logo again. XD

You may or may not know that we have a new member as of last year. My cousin is now on the bass, which I used to play, and I now play electric. My grandpa and I are both the electric guitar players, my brother is the drummer, my sister is on keys, and my cousin play the bass. Our mom and her siblings used to be in a band with our grandpa when they were kids, and now that they’re grown, us kids now have a band.

So, the genre is mostly rock. We do a little pop/punk here and there, but we are mostly rock. You may have noticed, since technology is so good these days, nobody really plays rock instruments that much. My grandpa really likes older rock, so sometimes if we play covers then we’ll play Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Credence Clearwater, and lots of other old rock. These days we don’t do very many covers though. We’re mostly just playing originals.

Speaking of writing songs. We have written about 4 songs in the past 5 months, that we have been practicing a lot on. So, this summer we are going to use our best song and come out with a single, we might do an EP but we’re planning on just doing a single. So, once that is out, then I will let you guys know, and I can probably sell it to you guys for about 3 bucks.

We are having a concert this summer also. We did the same thing last year. So, every year there is a festival in our grandpa’s home town, it’s a small town, so not that many people, but it’s still cool. Last year they had about 60 people. Anyway, they asked us to come back and play this year. We are going to be selling CDs and T-shirts at it. This is what the T-shirts will look like:

I can also probably sell some of those to you guys. But anyways, we have about 6 original songs that we will probably be playing for that concert, and then if people beg for more then we’ll play a cover XD.

We will probably have an actual full album by next winter. So, I’m super excited to keep working on that. Also we are planning on doing a few small gigs here and there this spring.

Youth group band:

Well, there’s not that much to say about this. We are just now starting back after the winter break, because our band leader actually had a baby girl during winter break! So, congrats to him! But that’s kinda why we didn’t get back to band until now.

I’m not playing tonight, but I will next week, because we have our first practice on Sunday. We kinda had a band meeting last Sunday, but we didn’t actually practice. I’m playing bass for our youth band currently. If we find someone else who can play bass then I’ll just switch to electric, but for now I’m the only one who can play the bass. We have about 15 songs that we’ll be playing throughout the spring, our leader created a Spotify playlist, which I’m listening to right now, it helps us to be able to just get right to playing since we know the songs so well.

Well, that’s pretty much all for today. Thank you so much for reading! I’m wanting to do another genealogy post sometime soon, so be on the lookout. If you haven’t already then make sure to smash that follow button, so that you don’t miss out on any more awesome upcoming posts! 🙂

Do you think I’ve improved as a blogger?

Do you notice yourself improving as a blogger?

Are you in a band? If so, what instrument do you play?

Let’s talk!!

Receive and Release (What I learned at WM)

Hey guys! What’s poppin?

Untitled design(1)

This last weekend was extraordinary! My church had an awesome conference called World Mandate! If you guys follow Kaelyn’s blog I believe she made a post about World Mandate here. I was able to go to World Mandate this last weekend. I got to listen to four awesome sermons. We had amazing worship and community!

The first sermon was probably my favorite. I got to listen to Michael Miller from UPPERROOM church in Dallas. You guys might have heard some of their worship music. But yeah, he was awesome! He pretty much just talked about just God alone. About resting in God. You don’t need anything else. Just trust in God. So, for the rest of the weekend I was trying to just listen to God the whole time and not get caught up with the rest of life, but just rest in him. Talk to God, and just listen to him. So, like just basing my every move on faith in him. I really tried to grow my relationship with him.

Saturday night was the last session. At the end of the session we did a fire tunnel. If you don’t know what a fire tunnel is, then let me explain. So, everyone in the church works together to make a tunnel of people. If God is telling you to pray for others, then you are part of the tunnel. If God wants you to receive from him, then you walk through the tunnel of people, laying hands on you and praying for you, words of encouragement just start being spoken into you and your life. People prophesy over you, words from God.

Well, for the past month I have really been trying to receive from God. I have just been trying to hear what he has for me. Well, guess what? When you give then you receive even more, it says it in the bible. So, God was telling me to go and be a part of the tunnel and speak prophesy from God over the people coming through. So, that’s what I did. It was amazing! I just started hearing God clearly and just being able to prophesy words of truth over these people.

God just kept saying, “receive and release.” I would then prophesy that over the people. What God was giving to me I would release it. God was saying that we as Christians are his mirrors. As his children it makes sense that we are like him. We reflect everything he says. We reflect his love, and mercy, and his peace, joy, and every fruit of the spirit. It all just reflects off of us, his children. So, I just kept on praying for the people about how we reflect God and how he shines through us to where we can just spread him to the community all around us. I truly felt on “fire” for God. I could just feel his presence going over me and I was actually receiving more from God by prophesying over others.

Later I ended up going through the tunnel myself and I just felt the joy of the Lord. It was amazing!! I got so many good prophesies. By now, I was so on fire for God, like I could barely walk, because God was just like pouring everything he has on to me. Guy it was soooo good!!!!! Truly one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Next morning (Sunday morning), I was listening to a YT video of Francis Chan (y’all need to listen to him, he’s awesome!), he was talking about walking in love through prayer. I was like bam! That’s really what I was hearing the other night in the fire tunnel, I was hearing his love through my prayer and I was walking in it. So, later that morning I had TORCH Team, isn’t that interesting! I had TORCH Team. More fire for God to spread! Well, I shared this whole thing that I’m sharing with you guys, I shared it at TORCH Team. I was still feeling God so powerfully and immensely. I am still feeling him the same way right now (it’s not the coffee).

By the way guys I am totally just winging this post. I’m not editing it. I’m just speaking out whatever God is telling me. And guys, truly I just encourage y’all to receive and release. It’s so powerful. Always try to reflect God onto people around you. Be God’s mirror!!

I don’t know if you guys believe differently about this kind of stuff than me, but it’s coming straight from God, so it’s gotta be true! Ya know what I’m saying??? This stuff is amazing! Take it in! Receive it! As God’s children we want to be like him, we want to reflect him into our lives and to the people around us. My heart is literally jumping for JOY for what I’m God is talking about!!!! That is why I’m not editing this thing! Whatever God has to say is perfect. What I have to say is never perfect, but what God has to say is perfect, I’m not editing what he says. This is not from me!! This is from my father! He is the one telling me all this. I am opening my heart to what he is telling me. This is what it’s like when I don’t have God telling me what to write, right here (please click on this, it’s so good)!!

Guys please also go check out Keziah’s challenge (the song I’m listening to reminded me)! It’s such an amazing thing she is doing over on her blog and I’m joining in with her.

I will see you guys later!!! -Ezra
